Large Graphite Portrait of Saint Theresa of Avila

Teresa of Ávila, also called Saint Teresa of Jesus, was a 16th century Carmelite nun and prominent Spanish mystic and religious reformer. Among other things, she is known for her ecstatic visions, as pictured here. The signed drawing, estimated to be from 1870, measures 21.3" x 16.6". There is minor creasing, but given it's age is in very good quality. Purchased from a seller in Marseille, FR.
